Places to Eat near Villa Oliveira

The food and wine of the Silver Coast region has a rich and varied tradition of gastronomy and fine wines. Dominated by seafood, hardly surprising considering the Silver Coast is on the Atlantic Ocean, much of the fish served in restaurants or sold locally has come off the fishing boats from towns like Peniche. If fish is not your thing then don't worry as there is a strong flavour of hearty rural cooking in the many fine restaurants and you'll find a wide selection on steaks, pork, wild boar & chicken on offer. At Praia Del Rey you there are many restaurants within minutes including some of our own favourites:

The Links Restaurant at the Clubhouse - if you don't want to drive then a short walk up to the Links restaurant is the answer. It offers an excellent menu combining Portuguese & European cuisine and has childrens menus as well. The Clubhouse is open throughout the day for breakfast & snacks.

The Marriott Hotel - offers a selection of restaurants and lounges including the Atlantic grill.

Serra Del Rey  - the local village and about 5 minutes by car has a number of restaurants suitable for everyone including children.

Peniche - about 20 minutes by car is the town of Peniche on the Atlantic coast which has an abundance of restaurants both along the front by the harbour and within the town. If you like fish then you will be spoilt for choice.

Recommended restaurants in Peniche include:

Tasca Do Joel - great for families. Steaks, Fish & pizzas cooked in wood ovens.

Nau Dos Corvos - situated on the headland with stunning views towards the Berlinga islands & the ocean. 

Obidos - the ancient walled town has some lovely restaurants and cellar style bars scattered amongst the cobbled streets and is well worth a visit by day and in the evening. 

The region produces some very fine wines at exceedingly reasonable prices and these are definitely worth trying during your stay There are two local producers, Quinta do Cerejeiras and Quinta do Sanguinhal, whose wines are generally available in local restaurants and supermarkets. Visits can be arranged at certain times of the years to visit the Quinta's.
